**Laundry Attendant (Napa, CA)**

**Role Summary

The Laundry Attendant reports directly to the Executive Housekeeper and is responsible for laundering all of the linen on the property (rooms, spa and restaurant) in a timely and organized manner.**

**Core Responsibilities**

**The key responsibilities for this position are:**

* **Load and operate washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturers guidelines.**

* **Unload linen; iron and fold according to departmental standards.**

* **Record poundage and amounts washed and dried.**

* **Sort and separate damaged or stained linen to be repaired or used as rags.**

* **Report to management any needed repairs or unsafe conditions.**

* **Monitor and control supplies, minimizing waste within the laundry facility.**

* **Ensure a clean, organized and safe work area.**

* **Clean lint traps from dryers daily; check and clean drains as necessary.**

* **Use all cleaning products and chemicals safely and according to product instructions.**

* **Adhere to lost and found procedure, ensuring the proper retrieval and placement of items found in guests linen or laundry.**

* **Maintain respect for guest confidentiality and personal items.**

* **Engage each guest with a smile and appropriate greeting, using the guests name whenever appropriate. Graciously accommodate guest requests.**

* **Make suggestions for improvement in overall operations with an emphasis on increasing guest satisfaction, revenue and cost reduction.**

* **Work in accordance with hotel and departmental safety standards.**

* **Use all hotel equipment safely and properly.**

* **Participate in and support hotel and company efforts towards sustainability and environmental initiatives as part of the Planet Auberge program**

* **Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.**

**Required Qualifications**

* **One year experience in a hotel laundry or similar environment.**

* **Basic knowledge of general laundering and use of laundry supplies and equipment.**

**Preferred Qualifications**

* **Able to read and write in English**

* **Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs**
