Since its inception after 9/11, the Cinema for Peace initiative has dedicated itself to addressing global social, political, and humanitarian challenges through the powerful medium of film. Over the years, Cinema for Peace has collaborated with renowned figures such as Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, and respected public figures like the Dalai Lama, Muhammad Ali, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Nelson Mandela, to raise awareness of pressing global issues.


About the Opportunity:

The Cinema for Peace Foundation is currently organizing "Cinema for Peace Awards Gala," an annual conference held in Berlin during the Berlin Film Festival. This event aims to unite leaders from film, culture, politics, and civil society to explore innovative solutions to global challenges. The Awards Gala serves as a platform to celebrate film as a catalyst for change in the areas of democracy, peace, and social justice, and climate change.


Cinema for Peace is seeking volunteers to join its team in preparing for the Awards Gala, especially in relation to film curation and jury selection.


As a Volunteer, Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Film Selection: Play a key role in selecting and curating impactful films for screenings and discussions at The World Forum.
  • Partnership Development: Build relationships with potential partners and sponsors, organizing film screenings and panel discussions.
  • Fundraising Support: Help plan and execute fundraising events, auctions, and membership programs, with a focus on film-related fundraising initiatives.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with general administrative duties, including managing guest lists, conducting research, and staying updated on global political issues.
  • Communication Strategy: Support social media strategy by drafting and sharing film-related content across platforms.


These responsibilities will directly contribute to the successful planning and execution of the event.


The Ideal Candidate Has:

  • An educational background in fields such as Film, Human Rights, International Relations, or Project Management.
  • A strong passion for film, art, international conflicts, and humanitarian issues.
  • Previous experience with film-related organizations, non-governmental organizations, or international entities.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, with German as a plus.
  • A creative, proactive mindset, with the ability to think outside the box and solve problems effectively.
