Name: Strategic Sourcing Partner III
Pay Rate: $65-$70/hour on W2
Contract duration: 6 months
Location: Remote, USA - Majority of business partners are based in Pacific time zones, so it's preferred that the individual has flexibility to accommodate these hours when required.

Job Description:

The principal role of this position is to support Global Procurement + Sourcing in categories related to Meetings + Events globally. The role will be an interim position with a key focus on partnering with client's strategic event agency partners. The individual will be responsible for cultivating both internal business partner and external agency relationships, enabling key events through sourcing and contracting needs. The individual will leverage their experience to deliver significant value to key stakeholders by reviewing the end-to-end strategic sourcing process for various categories within Meetings & Events, breaking down silos and empowering collaboration across sourcing managers.

Key responsibilities for this period include:

  1. Enabling strategic events to be a success through the execution and addressing of contractual needs ahead of the events with key partners.
  2. Sourcing: Provide primary Sourcing support for internal business partners for sourcing requests including contract negotiations, performing market analysis, providing spend data insights and recommendations, and developing business cases for new projects.
  3. Business Partner Relationships: Building relationships with day-to-day internal stakeholders to better understand needs, expectations, and build pipeline visibility.
  4. Supplier Relationship Management: Partner with agency sourcing leads to build and execute an agency playbook, enabling consistency across agencies and improving data and benchmarking capabilities.
  5. Breaking Down Silos across Meetings + Events Category Leads: Continue on the journey to break down silos and find true partnership where event agencies intersect with other categories (Hotels, Venues, Talent, Production, etc.), delivering results that enable the business to achieve their objectives.

An overview of a day:
The contractor will lead sourcing reviews and initiatives for Tier 1 event agencies (agencies who support strategic events, Tableau Conference, Connections, World Tours, Company Kick Off, etc.). They will review and negotiate contracts, partner with internal stakeholders and agencies on go-forward initiatives, and partner with other sourcing managers who work on meetings + events. We are working on standardizing and formalizing agency engagement, and this individual would be critical to enabling change in this respect.

Must have skills:
  1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. MS/MBA/MA degree desired.
  2. Global business analysis skills (i.e., requirements gathering, process reengineering, functional specifications) required.
  3. Project Management of teams in various geographies required.
  4. Skills in procurement, Sourcing methodologies required.
  5. MS Office + Google Docs skills.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with Slack a plus.
  7. Strong conceptual and analytical thinking.
  8. Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  9. Flexibility to adapt to ever-changing business situations.
  10. Must demonstrate commitment to company values.
  11. Must be able to win support from customers based on skills, experience, and collaboration.

Teachable skills:
  1. Previous experience working in meetings + events.
  2. Previous experience working within a large, global organization.
  3. Subject matter expertise in Marketing and Events related categories highly desired.
  4. Change Management process knowledge desired.

Familiarity with meetings, events, and marketing is highly preferred. There will not be much ramp-up time for the individual to learn the area, so learning agility is key if they do not have this direct experience. We also need someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, jumping into new relationships, and comfortable building those.
