About the Role

We are seeking a Photonic Test & Validation Engineer to lead testing and validation efforts for advanced photonic technologies. In this role, you will develop and execute rigorous validation methodologies, analyze system performance, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance reliability and functionality.


Responsibilities

  • Design and execute engineering validation and design validation testing for photonic systems and components.
  • Develop and implement detailed test plans and methodologies to assess system performance.
  • Conduct corner case studies to evaluate system behavior under extreme conditions.
  • Debug issues at both module and component levels, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Utilize advanced optical test equipment, including optical spectrum analyzers, real-time oscilloscopes, and power meters.
  • Apply data analysis and statistical visualization techniques to extract actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate testing and validation into the development process.
  • Continuously improve testing protocols and validation strategies.


Experience & Skills Required

  • Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with at least 5 years of industry experience, OR a Ph.D. with at least 2 years of industry experience.
  • Expertise in photonic components and systems, including lasers, semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs), optical splitters, optical filters, and photodetectors.
  • Strong proficiency in optical test equipment such as optical spectrum analyzers, real-time oscilloscopes, and power meters.
  • Experience developing and implementing robust validation methodologies and corner case studies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools for performance evaluation.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks or scripting for test process optimization.
  • Knowledge of reliability testing and lifetime performance evaluation for photonic systems.
