Our client is seeking a Head of Operations & Production to oversee production operations

across three production facilities in Northern California. This role will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient use of facilities and staff supporting finished goods in alignment with their commitment to excellence in winemaking. As a strategic and hands-on leader, you will work closely with cross-functional teams—including winemaking, quality, purchasing, logistics, S&OP, compliance, and finance—to drive efficiency, cost savings, and continuous improvement across bottling, packaging, and logistics.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the day-to-day manufacturing of products, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Reviews production reports and processes to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.
  • Ensures a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, industry standards, and quality management systems, such as ISO certifications.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams, such as winemaking, purchasing, and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Assists chief operating officer with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology.
  • Works with finance team to develop operating budget.
  • Delivers progress and production reports to executive team members as requested.
  • Supervises equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Leadership and Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Organizes departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations
  • Oversees and participates in the recruitment, hiring, and training of manufacturing employees.
  • Oversees schedules and assignments for the division.
  • Identifies and shares training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing operations and production team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Align all production activities with Bronco Wine Co.'s long-term strategic goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Who You Are:

  • A proven leader in wine production and supply chain operations, with expertise in bottling, packaging, and logistics.
  • A data-driven decision-maker with a strong understanding of production scheduling, labor efficiencies, and cost management.
  • A collaborative problem solver, comfortable working across multiple departments to optimize operations.
  • A detail-oriented and process-driven professional, committed to quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of the policies and practices used in the manufacturing division.
  • Ability to set long-term goals and communicate them to others.
  • Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to accomplish goals.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, production, or supply chain management within the wine, spirits, or beverage industry.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience working with compliance reporting and TTB regulations.
  • Ability to lead teams and drive operational excellence in a high-volume production environment.
