Overview:

We're seeking a reliable, hands-on Shop Technician to support the build and installation of custom industrial automation systems. You'll play a key role in assembling mechanical and electrical components, wiring control panels, and assisting in machine installations. This position reports to the Production Manager and works closely with the Engineering team to ensure each system is built to spec and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build control panels, subassemblies, and machine components from drawings and schematics
  • Wire electrical systems including sensors, relays, drives, and safety devices
  • Perform mechanical assembly and integration work on machines and enclosures
  • Support system bring-up, installation, testing, and debugging alongside engineers
  • Maintain shop tools, supplies, and organization
  • Follow safety and quality protocols throughout the build process
  • Assist with incoming inspections and outbound shipments as needed

Experience and Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
  • Dependable, organized, and detail-focused
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks for extended periods
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience building control panels or industrial machinery
  • Familiarity with UL 508A or industrial electrical standards
  • Forklift experience or certification
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
