About Us:

We are a busy and well-established construction street sweeping company seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join our team. This position plays a critical role in keeping our operations running smoothly, especially in managing financial records and certified payroll reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
•Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries, in accordance with GAAP.
•Process weekly certified payroll and regular payroll while ensuring full compliance with prevailing wage and public works requirements.
•Prepare and submit weekly certified payroll reports (manual and electronic) for public works projects in a timely and accurate manner. Process monthly union reports.
•Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records in compliance with GAAP standards and internal policies.
•Provide administrative support by managing filing systems, answering phones, and overseeing routine office functions.
•Assist in processing documentation for new and existing projects, including contracts, purchase orders, certificates of insurance (COIs), and other compliance-related documents.
•Coordinate weekly with the Dispatcher/Operations Manager to ensure accurate employee job coding and timecard reconciliation.
•Support Human Resources by managing onboarding documentation, employee records, and assisting with compliance tracking.

Qualifications:
•Minimum 3 years (or more) of bookkeeping experience, preferably within the construction industry.
•Strong understanding of GAAP and its application in day-to-day accounting functions.
•Proficiency in Microsoft, Excel and QuickBooks Online.
•Proven experience with certified payroll processing and a solid understanding of prevailing wage laws and requirements.
•Excellent organizational and communication skills.
•Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
•High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:
•Familiarity with union and non-union payroll reporting processes.
•Experience with public works project compliance and reporting requirements.
