Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Product to lead product strategy, digital experience, and technical delivery across our portfolio of wine commerce brands. This role is accountable for the full product lifecycle, from roadmap to rollout, across ecommerce platforms, internal tools, and customer-facing experiences.

You'll partner closely with our Director of Technology, collaborating on the "what and why" while Tech owns the "how." Together, you'll ensure our digital stack evolves to drive exceptional customer experience and value, operational efficiency, and business growth.

We're looking for someone who blends systems thinking with customer empathy and technical fluency. Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where roadmap, CX/UX, and operations are deeply connected.

Essential Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Leadership

Own and evolve the multi-brand product strategy, roadmap, and prioritization process aligned to company OKRs.
Champion a culture focused on customer experience, operational scalability, and experimentation.
Drive adoption of agile practices, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and iterative releases.

Execution & Digital Platform Ownership

Oversee all digital products across the DBG portfolio, including custom platforms and our migration to Shopify Plus.
Ensure seamless frontend and backend integrations across systems like Shopify, Klaviyo, Recharge, Linnworks, Figure and other internal tools.
Own the end-to-end user experience across sites, optimizing for conversion, speed, and usability.
Translate business objectives and customer feedback into well-defined feature specs, workflows, and priorities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner daily with Tech, Operations, Customer Service, Growth and Marketing to identify and solve friction points.
Lead implementation of A/B tests, feature launches, and iterative improvements grounded in data.
Manage internal ecommerce admin staff and guide them on tooling, processes, and daily operations support.
Evaluate and direct the work of third-party developers and product vendors as needed.

Data, UX, and Continuous Improvement

Leverage data to uncover product opportunities and measure impact (conversion, retention, NPS, etc.).
Build internal tools and reporting systems that empower teams to self-serve and execute faster.
Promote a culture of "test and learn," using both qualitative and quantitative insights to inform decisions.

Qualifications

6–8+ years leading product strategy and development in ecommerce or a fastmoving tech environment.
Proven success owning and evolving customer-facing digital products and backend tools.
Deep experience with Shopify Plus and key DTC tools (Klaviyo, Recharge, etc.); migration experience preferred.
Familiarity with fulfillment and operational workflows, including OMS or WMS systems like Linnworks.
Strong analytical and data skills; able to use SQL, product analytics, and dashboards to make decisions.
Agile/hybrid methodology fluency; experienced in backlog management and cross functional facilitation.
Strong communicator with the ability to align technical and nontechnical stakeholders around a shared roadmap.
Customer-centric mindset, grounded in systems thinking and operational awareness.

Bachelor's degree preferred; technical or analytical background strongly preferred.

Work Environment

This role is based in our Napa HQ and expected to be onsite to work closely with Operations, customer experience, and the Growth and Marketing teams.

What We Offer

Competitive salary + performance bonus
Medical, dental, and vision insurance; HSA/FSA
401(k) with employer match
Paid time off, 10 paid holidays
Wine purchase benefits and professional development support
A dynamic, supportive, and entrepreneurial team environment

We are an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to diversity and inclusion and welcome qualified applicants of all backgrounds.
