At NorthBay Healthcare the obstetrical technician (OBT) is responsible and accountable for scrubbing for all OB surgeries in Labor & Delivery. In the absence of the unit clerk the OBT also performs unit clerk functions to include general clerical and reception duties. Primary Responsibilities: Utilize sterile technique to surgically assist physicians with such procedures as c/sections and tubal ligations. Function effectively during obstetrical emergencies. Prepare the surgical and delivery rooms and for assisting with patient care duties as assigned. Works in collaboration with the entire healthcare team to provide each patient and family member excellent customer service.
