Ground Up Construction Recruiting is working with a prominent general contractor that focuses on federal government and healthcare projects. We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Electrical and Low Voltage Operations to lead our self-performing divisions.

This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader to build and guide a dynamic team towards innovation and excellence. With offices in Kingsburg, CA, Rohnert Park, CA, and a new location in Albuquerque, NM, we are looking for an individual who excels in both technical proficiency and people management.

Role Overview: The Director is accountable for the leadership and integration of the Electrical and Low Voltage departments. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, project execution, adherence to compliance standards, financial oversight, and team leadership across all operations. This role promotes collaboration among departmental managers, cultivates a unified leadership culture, and drives teams toward collective objectives while maintaining respect for their distinct functions.

The Director must excel in managing organizational changes, empower team members, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, code-compliant projects that meet deadlines and budget constraints. Additionally, this position is pivotal in aligning departmental performance with company-wide goals, pinpointing avenues for innovation and growth, and ensuring operational excellence across both divisions.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred)
  • 10+ years in electrical construction, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances
  • In-depth technical knowledge of low-voltage systems (fire alarm, data, security, AV)
  • Proven track record in managing healthcare and government-related projects
  • Strong familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70/99, BICSI, and relevant codes and regulations
  • Proficient with tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Intellibid, P6/MS Project, and AutoCAD/BIM
