Job Opportunity: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst

Pay Rate – $75K - $100K DOE

Summary

We are seeking an experienced FP&A Analyst who is detail-oriented, a self-starter, and motivated to join our Finance team. This individual will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and providing financial insights to support decision-making at all levels of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background and the ability to communicate complex financial data in a clear, actionable way. Reporting to the Controller, this role will work closely with cross-functional teams, providing financial insights to guide decision-making, optimize profitability, and ensure the financial health of the business. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in financial analysis, strong business acumen, and a passion for the CPG industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or corporate finance, preferably within the consumer-packaged goods industry or a related industry
  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial planning software
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Previous experience cross-functional business partnering
  • Knowledge of financial reporting tools (e.g., NetSuite) is a plus
  • Knowledge of the dried fruit industry or broader food and beverage sector is a plus

Essential Financial and Analytical Job Responsibilities (55%)

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review
  • Support the monthly, semi-annual, and annual financial forecasting and budgeting process
  • Develop and maintain financial models and tools to evaluate business performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and variances
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and long-term financial plans. Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support budgeting and planning processes
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiencies across departments
  • Assist in the development, measurement, and reporting of Sales incentive plan
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support on special projects as needed

Cross Functional Business Partnering (45%)

  • FP&A Analyst shall serve as a SME and business partner for Sales and Marketing (and support additional departments as needed) to align financial goals with business strategies, ensuring that each department's activities contribute to the company's overall financial health and growth
  • Performs monthly analysis to support review with Business Units - providing insights into financial results; includes risk and opportunity analysis where applicable. FP&A Analyst is the bridge between Finance and other business units, translating complex financial data into actionable strategies that department heads can understand and apply to their day-to-day operations
  • Assist Sales and Marketing to build complex cost models and create margin guardrails
  • Participate in and validate Lean Six Sigma projects to drive cost reductions and/or efficiency
