Description

Our client, a leader in commercial real estate, is seeking a Building Engineer to support facility operations and help maintain a safe, efficient work environment in Fairfield, CA. This is a full-time, onsite role operating Monday- Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm with the possibility of on-call work. This is a 4-month contract opportunity with the potential to extend. This position requires adherence to strict safety protocols including 100% eye and ear protection and steel-toed boots. The role operates within a clean, high-paced manufacturing facility and involves working both independently and alongside vendors and internal teams. The ideal candidate will be confident, highly skilled in troubleshooting, and possess strong communication and customer service abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and redirect personnel as needed, working largely independently or with vendor support
• Manage new account onboarding activities and support relationship-building between clients
• Respond promptly to facility issues including HVAC servicing, restroom maintenance, painting/touch-ups, and equipment troubleshooting
• Monitor fire suppression systems and conduct fire extinguisher and eye wash station checks
• Collaborate closely with HVAC teams and other trades as required
• Maintain compliance with safety and PPE protocols at all times
• Use technology daily, including iOS devices and Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook and Teams

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in building maintenance or industrial facility engineering
• High school diploma required; trade school preferred
• Universal Refrigeration license highly preferred; Journeyman training highly desired but not required
• Lift systems certifications and other trade licenses a plus
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently with confidence
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred but Not Required:
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures
• Background in manufacturing environments
• Additional certifications or licenses
