Material Handler

Join a leading aerospace and defense contractor that designs and manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles. As a Material Handler, you will play a key role in supporting warehouse operations by building and assembling crates, as well as transporting, organizing, and managing inventory. You will ensure materials are accurately received, stored, and delivered to production areas, contributing to the smooth flow of operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble crates from individual wood planks using hand tools and basic assembly skills.
  • Organize materials into designated shipping lanes for crating and dispatch.
  • Stage and load crates into trucks.
  • Comfortably lift and handle materials up to 50+ lbs.
  • Safely operate sit-down forklifts, specifically Nissan, to move pallets and crates.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization during downtime, including part picking and sweeping.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in forklift operation, particularly sit-down models.
  • Skill in crate building and assembly.
  • 1+ year of experience with hand tools, including drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, and tape measures.
  • Experience in material handling and heavy lifting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in material handling.
  • Flexibility to work a 9/80 schedule, with openness to working on Fridays when needed.

The work schedule is Monday through Friday on the 1st shift from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, with flexibility if needed. The 9/80 schedule allows for every other Friday off, though availability to work on Fridays is required when needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Petaluma, California.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
