Sr SAP FICO Consultant

Description:

Our client is seeking a Senior SAP FICO Consultant to join their ERP and Finance team. This is a critical new headcount role (not a backfill) supporting the client's dual ERP environments (ECC and S/4HANA) and their roadmap to full S/4HANA migration. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth financial operations, supporting both ECC and S/4HANA environments, and leading system/process improvements.


The ideal candidate is a seasoned SAP FICO professional with strong Product Costing experience and deep knowledge of core finance submodules (AR, AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Profit Centers, Cost Centers). You should also be comfortable engaging senior leadership, managing projects, and integrating SAP with third-party applications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide functional expertise across FICO modules with a focus on Product Costing.
  • Support and enhance both ECC and S/4HANA environments as the company progresses toward full S/4HANA migration.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate finance process needs into SAP solutions.
  • Manage integrations with third-party applications (e.g., Vertex tax, Esker AP invoice processing, payment processing systems).
  • Provide ongoing production support and lead enhancement projects.
  • Partner with IT and business leadership on ERP strategy, cloud hosting decisions, and potential system integrator engagement.
  • Lead/participate in project management activities, including requirements gathering, testing, UAT, and go-live support.


Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of SAP FICO experience.
  • Proven expertise in Product Costing (standard costing, actual costing, COPA).
  • Strong knowledge of AR, AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Cost Centers, Profit Centers.
  • Hands-on experience with both ECC and S/4HANA.
  • Solid understanding of finance processes and ability to engage directly with senior leadership.
  • Strong project management skills and effective communication abilities.


Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with third-party system integrations (Vertex, Esker, credit card/payment processing).
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted SAP environments (AWS, private vs. public cloud).


Work Environment & Benefits

  • Hybrid schedule: 2–3 days onsite in the Bay Area (Tue/Wed standard, flexibility required around deliverables).

Relocation

The client is open to considering candidates willing to relocate to the Bay Area; however, relocation costs will not be covered.
