This key leadership role will oversee and manage construction projects that keep our city's infrastructure safe, efficient, and resilient. From City capital improvements like major roadway and facility improvement projects to inspecting right-of-way improvements constructed by private development, the Construction Manager will play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: This is a section head position within the Engineering Division with responsibility for the supervision of public works inspection. This position requires considerable knowledge of construction management and basic engineering principles and practices.

This position is represented by Fairfield General Management Association (FGMA) and receives an excellent benefits package, including:

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:
  • Six years experience inspecting public works projects requiring a knowledge of field and office engineering practices and procedures is required.
Education:
  • Graduation from high school, supplemented with technical courses in engineering, construction methods, materials testing, or related fields is required.

Possession of a a valid Class C California State Driver's License is required at the time of hire. Possession of a valid equivalent is acceptable during the application process.
