The Role:

As the MEP Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the daily MEP site activities. Your responsibilities will include overseeing project performance, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and effectively managing trade partners to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and document all daily MEP job site activities, ensuring OSHA safety compliance.
  • Lead field personnel according to the project plan and Suffolk's supervisory principles.
  • Communicate updates on issues, performance, and progress to the Project Manager daily.
  • Promptly report problems to facilitate cost-effective solutions.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients and team members.
  • Collaborate with the General Superintendent for assistance with materials and scheduling.
  • Participate in project start-up meetings, identifying pre-mobilization activities.
  • Assist in formulating and implementing construction schedules in the field.
  • Ensure that all project activities comply with contractual obligations and meet client expectations.
  • Manage safety initiatives by ensuring subcontractors attend pre-construction meetings.
  • Maintain workplace safety by reviewing daily project activities and ensuring OSHA compliance.
  • Manage quality assurance processes, ensuring all benchmarks are met.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and oversee site management and utilization.
  • Attend and chair various project meetings, ensuring effective communication across teams.
  • Complete required documentation and logs, maintaining organized records.
  • Lead project closeout activities, including utility transfers, owner training, and punch lists.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in related construction fields.
  • Ability to manage change and adapt to new processes effectively.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organized problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent understanding of safety management and quality standards.
  • Capability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining excellent customer relations.
