Overview
In the position of a Project Manager II, you will manage and oversee the development of new projects from quotation support, through development and validation of molds, equipment, and manufacturing processes, and successful transfer to Manufacturing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead small development projects and support the SMC project team on development and/or sustaining projects.
- Work with internal and external resources to research, design, and develop the necessary elements of the project – molds, tooling, processes, automation, fixtures, EOAT, secondary equipment, etc.
- Communicate effectively as the primary interface with stakeholders; maintain responsiveness and clear collaboration.
- Develop project timelines that align with quoted lead-times and customer validation, pilot builds, and approval requirements.
- Manage projects to meet customer deliverables and ensure successful development within quality and financial targets.
- Apply project management practices with internal and external teams – action items, meeting minutes, prioritization, and collaboration as needed.
- Serve as the primary technical interface with customers; gather product requirements and provide technical input across design, materials, molds, manufacturing, and validations.
- Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, standards, and customer specifications.
- Support product design decisions, material selection, mold design, manufacturing, secondary operations, and other related areas.
- Ensure molding, process, or assembly testing supports robust development and manufacturing processes.
- Lead DOE/objectives discussions, resolve issues from testing, and prepare validation reports and summaries as needed.
- Develop documentation during project setup and development (e.g., Device Master Record) and ensure internal systems are up to date at Release to Manufacturing (RTM).
- Regular on-site presence at our Devens, MA facility.
- Provide post-RTM internal support and resolve any new issues that arise.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure seamless release of products to manufacturing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (preferably Plastics).
- Minimum seven years of experience in the Plastics Industry, preferably Injection Molding.
- Multi-tasking ability, organized with excellent time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for handling sensitive and confidential situations.
- Strong technical and proposal writing skills; strong presentation skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in analyzing, evaluating, and solving problems.
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Annual Salary Range $86,000 - $103,000
