Position/Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Pay Range: $110 - 130K

Location: Rohnert Park, CA

Responsibilities

  • Perform Manufacturing Engineering assignments of varying complexity. Use discretion in determining work priorities to support all manufacturing engineering functions at the Rohnert Park site.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical assemblies, including tooling, fixtures, and work instructions.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve test equipment and procedures for functional testing of components, subassemblies (including PCBAs), and final assemblies.
  • Provide hands-on support to the production floor, addressing process issues, equipment malfunctions, and quality concerns in real-time.
  • Train production staff on current production processes and provide periodic training on assembly methods and equipment use.
  • Analyze workflow and floor layout to meet manufacturing objectives and improve ergonomics.
  • Compile, evaluate, and provide technical analysis on test and production data; support interpretation of engineering documentation and Engineering Change Notices.
  • Collaborate with management, Design Engineering, and other staff to facilitate production processes, capabilities, schedules, and considerations.
  • Continuously improve processes by designing or sourcing improved machines, tooling, fixtures, gauges, hand tools, and processes.
  • Interface with suppliers to discuss product specifications and provide technical support.
  • Lead cost savings and quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with other functions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop effective countermeasures; evaluate nonconforming material.
  • Evaluate new and existing designs to improve manufacturability; participate in D/PFMEA as part of new product development.
  • Support new product introduction from inception through implementation; develop test stands, tools, fixtures, and work instructions; keep DFx in the forefront.
  • Identify, evaluate, and champion opportunities for automation within the manufacturing environment (e.g., automated assembly, robotic handling, automated testing, vision inspection).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechatronics, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role focused on electro-mechanical products.

Skills/Aptitudes

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL
  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD Software
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications
  • Experience with stepper motor control and motion control
  • Experience with communication protocols (I2C, RS-232, RS-485, USB)
  • Experience with programming relevant to test automation (VB6, LabVIEW, Python, C/C++)
  • Proficient using oscilloscopes, in-circuit debuggers, and other electronic test equipment
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems and components, including electronics down to the component level
  • Experience with ERP Systems (JDE)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Project management training and/or experience
  • Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $94,600.00 - $142,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for a performance-based bonus plan.
