The CDPH DEI position will manage and direct the activities of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs and initiatives within the Department. This position will develop, plan, organize, manage, evaluate, and lead CDPH DEI strategic programs and activities; promote efforts to achieve diversity, equity, and inclusion within the CDPH; and lead Department Equity Liaisons to set meaningful, measurable, achievable goals that align with the Department's core values.
The CEA will be responsible for the overall policy development for DEI, serve as direct advisor to the CDPH Directorate, and work with the Office of Health Equity (OHE) to link department efforts with external efforts to leverage activities and strategies addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion within communities and to ensure gaps are identified and strategies are implemented to build a respectful place for everyone.
