We are looking for someone who has a passion to plan and create well-executed grant proposals and coordinate support materials for North Bay Childrens Centers (NBCC) fundraising goals. You will also be a vital part of support in the stewardship of individual and institutional relationships, donor management, and supporting annual and capital campaign activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
Within the first 30-60 days:
? Becomes well-versed in NBCCs service history, mission core values, services, operational procedures, and how NBCC differentiates itself from competitors.
? Partners with the Vice President (VP) of Development and Communications to learn the day-to-day responsibilities of the role including how to draft applications/LOIs/proposals, maintaining a grant calendar, etc.
? By the 60-day mark, able to identify ~5 funders that align with what NBCC is looking for per month that are new. Partners with the VP of Development and Communications to take on drafting and creating 2-4 proposals monthly.
Month 3 and ongoing:
? Begins to submit reports on project analytics incorporating information regarding project movement through the formal process using the management system to run reports on the number of gifts that came in and the number of funds that were raised through a specific donor.
? Independently creates 3-4 proposals partnering with the VP of Development and Communications for review. Fully understands the grant process and can start the process over for different potential funders.
Month 6 and ongoing:
? Effectively conducts the necessary research into donors/funders to be able to creatively develop a story that tells NBCCs story and ties that into the values and expectations of the donors/funders.
? Partners with the VP of Development and Communications in the drafting of proposals that are $50,000+ to ensure all information is being properly recorded/inputted and all the necessary data is being tracked correctly.
Month 12 and ongoing:
? Has attended and helped organized 2+ NBCC events and independently handles the entire grant process from start to finish, has successful results in grant acceptance rate, and is consistently meeting all expected deadlines.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
? Bachelors degree in Creative Writing, English, or related field of study required
? Strong written and verbal communication skills required
? 1+ years experience in an administrative role within a non-profit environment a plus
? 1+ years experience in a fundraising environment or interest in fundraising a plus
? Willingness to be a part of a non-profit community to make a difference preferred
? Enjoys the creative aspect of writing and telling a story required
? Proven experience with fundraising programs and research tools such as Exceed, Greater Giving, GuideStar, Foundation Center, and Grant Station a plus
? Proficient with various office equipment, computers and various programs including Microsoft 365 required
COMPENSATION & WORK HOURS
Compensation: $52,000 - $57,000 annually based on experience and skill set
Work Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 am 5:30 pm
This is an In-Person position at our Novato Administration Office. Do not apply if you prefer Remote work.
