Health is all about people where they live, learn, work and play. The Family Health Services Clinics of the Health and Social Services Department is currently recruiting for Dentist. The mission of Family Health Services (FHS) is to provide superior, comprehensive, primary medical and dental care in order to improve the health and quality of life of Solano County residents. We have a special commitment to the uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we are a safety net provider. To support our mission, FHS offers four conveniently located clinics in Fairfield, Vacaville, and Vallejo and mobile medical and dental vans in which we provide primary care and dental services. The outpatient primary care clinics see patients five days a week, with some weekend and evening hours offered. We are committed to improving the quality of life locally by providing exceptional medical services, tracking and preventing the spread of disease, and promoting health and safety through education and communication.
Dentists provide dental services to patients at various County clinics. This class is distinguished from the class of Dentist Manager in that the latter manages the County-wide dental health program.
The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur or the need arises.
Education and Experience Requirements: Considerable experience in dentistry coupled with additional experience and education or training in public health services which demonstrates possession of requisite knowledge, competency, and ability. Typical qualifying experience would be:
Licensure: Possession of a valid and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of California issued by the Board of Dental Examiners. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California Driver's License may be required. Independent travel will be required.

To be eligible, applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions. A COPY OF THE DD 214, SHOWING DISCHARGE TYPE (GENERALLY COPY 4), MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT BY THE APPLICATION REVIEW DEADLINE.
