Interns will be working out of our Novato office: 330 Ignacio Blvd., Suite 201, Novato, CA 94949

Position Summary

As an Intern with Bregante + Company LLP you will have the opportunity to learn about and gain first-hand experience in a career in public accounting over a 3-month period. You will be provided with the same exposure as our staff-level hires through meaningful participation on a variety of engagements.

After onboarding, you will be assisting the Firm to provide accounting assistance to existing clients, assisting in the preparation of various tax returns and the related workpapers, involvement in tax consulting and planning, including performing tax research, along with the examination, review and compilation of financial statements.

Throughout your internship, you will have the opportunity to learn many new skillsets in a collaborative working environment, working with all levels of personnel in B+Co, and a head start in building your own professional business network. This position can be the starting point in your career, the Firm and the profession!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Statements

  • Assist with data entry for the preparation of financial statements
  • Gain exposure to business clients and the public accounting industry
  • Review client balance sheet and income statements for accuracy
  • Develop understanding of GAAP accounting
  • Assist in completion of financial statement engagements and support documentation
  • Identify, assess, and inform senior staff members of audit related issues
Tax
  • Prepare federal and state tax returns of all types; individual, corporate, partnership and fiduciary
  • Gain exposure to federal and state tax laws, including tax research
  • Organize and maintain tax workpapers, client data and files
  • Demonstrate ability to manage your time and project load

  • Above-average proficiency in Office 365; particularly Word and Excel
Minimum Requirements

To be considered as an Intern candidate for Bregante + Company LLP, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • Completion of, or currently enrolled in, a Bachelor's degree program or higher, with a major or concentration in accounting, tax or related field with a GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Applicant will be required to submit to a criminal background check upon receipt of a conditional offer
