Accounting Manager

Description:

The Accounting Manager will oversee daily, weekly and monthly accounting operations while ensuring the adherence and compliance with current accounting standards. Reporting to the Controller, this position will play a pivotal role within the department and contribute to the overall financial success of the organization. A functional understanding of GAAP, ability to research/interpret technical accounting guidance, and willingness to perform/oversee a variety of accounting tasks in support of department objectives are critical for the success of this position. The successful candidate will have a combination of experience, knowledge, and desire to work within a fast paced and dynamic environment where each day is different.

Department Oversight:

  • Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and meet established deadlines.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff on accounting processes & procedures, including new accounting standards, fostering an environment of professional development and continuous learning.
  • Work collaboratively within the department to navigate "one-off" issues and create operating procedures.
  • Assist with various accounting tasks as needed which may include reconciliations, journal entries, analysis and review.
  • Work cross functionally with department heads to address information bottlenecks, suggest process improvements, ensuring the accurate and timely receipt of financial information.
  • Be an active participant in the annual audit and working with external auditors
  • Assist in special projects and other tasks as needed.
Technical Accounting:
  • Research & interpret new accounting guidance, assess the impact of collaborate with the Controller and internal teams for implementation
  • Support in the development of internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures; ensure compliance with GAAP, new accounting standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Identify any misapplications or process inefficiencies, perform necessary analysis and propose corrective action.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, CPA license highly preferred.
  • A combination of 5-7 years experience within a technical accounting, audit, or advisory roles, ideally in addition to some corporate accounting experience.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
  • Strong systems/ERP experience and advanced proficiency in MS Excel preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently

Salary is commensurate with experience, between the range of $125-150k annually + benefits.

No relocation assistance will be offered and candidates must be within commutable distance. There are times where workload may increase and more in office presence is required.
