Sr. Director, GRM Solutions (San Jose) job at PayPal. San Jose, CA. The Senior Director, Global Risk Management (GRM) Solutions and Markets will lead and execute the global strategy to commercialize PayPal proprietary Risk Management Solutions and Features. This is a newly created role within the Global Ecosystem Risk and Solutions team. This role requires a leader who can articulate and execute visionary thinking with strong industry knowledge in Payments, Merchant and Acquiring Risk, and Financial Services. The individual should bring a wealth of experience in leading and managing various risk stripes, including Fraud, Credit, Financial Crimes, and Brand Risk Management as well as familiarity in sales and product commercialization. You will work across Global Risk Management teams to identify, develop, and commercialize tools, features, and capabilities across PayPal's markets and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute a global commercialization framework from identification of proprietary solutions to commercialization.
- Identify and size the addressable market, product use cases, and commercialization paths.
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment and consensus on commercialization plans.
- Solutions Identification and Product Enhancement:
- Partner with various GRM teams to identify potential in-house solutions and ideate commercial paths to address external programs in fraud, credit, compliance, and back-office automation in fraud operations and investigations.
- Stitch the solutions into a roadmap that connects potential partners and clients.
- Provide business requirements with the Risk Product teams to augment internal solutions for external-facing commercialization.
- Commercialization:
- Develop sales leads and engage with potential clients
- Provide Proof of Concept enablement with potential partners or clients
- Manage wing-to-wing commercialization from partner/client engagement, including contract negotiation and signing, product delivery while meeting internal Cybersecurity, Privacy, and 2nd line risk management requirements.
- Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Build and lead a high performing team that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and execution.
- Partner with various Global Risk Management teams to identify and execute on commercialization opportunities.
- Act as the primary SME advisor for C-level executives, providing data-driven insights and recommendations. Be the voice for opportunities to enable commercialization opportunities across different marketplaces
Qualifications
- 15+ years in one or multiple areas of the Global Risk Strip with experience in Fraud Prevention, Credit, Compliance, and/or Back-office automation.
- Proven experience influencing C-level executives in large, global organizations.
- Built and managed large Partnerships relationships such as Visa and Mastercard.
- Product development experience or partnering with Product organization is a plus.
- Organizational Leadership: Successful track record of leading teams in delivering results.
- Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge in various types of fraud, credit, risk infrastructure, authentication, or Operations automation.
- Innovation Leadership: Demonstrated success in partnering or manage Product organizations.
- Executive Presence: Exceptional ability to influence and engage with C-level leaders, articulating complex strategies and their business impacts.
- Collaboration Skills: Proven success in working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and regional teams to deliver impactful solutions.
- Global Perspective: Experience managing risk programs across multiple geographies, accounting for regional nuances and regulatory variations.
- Change agent: Adept at dealing with ambiguity, working at pace, and prioritizing changing requirements.
Compensation and Benefits
PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation is based on various factors including work location, relevant skills and experience. The total compensation may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable), equity, and medical, dental, vision, and other benefits. For more information, visit the U.S. national pay range for this role: $209,000 to $359,150. The majority of employees follow a balanced hybrid work model with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
