Overview

The Robert Louis Stevenson Museum seeks a visionary Executive Director to reimagine and elevate the Museums role locally and beyond. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will serve as chief ambassador, strategist, and fundraiserdriving public relations, community partnerships, and philanthropic support. You will oversee all operations, finance, exhibitions, collections care, education, and visitor experience with excellence and creativity. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership and organizational skills with a proven record in fundraising, nonprofit management, and museum best practices. A passion for literature, cultural preservation, and local heritageespecially Stevensons legacyis essential.

• Responsibilities:
• Serve as chief ambassador, strategist, and fundraiser; drive public relations, community partnerships, and philanthropic support.
• Oversee operations, finance, exhibitions, collections care, education, and visitor experience with excellence and creativity.
• Lead organizational strategy and governance in collaboration with the Board of Trustees.

• Qualifications:
• Proven leadership and strong organizational skills in nonprofit management.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and cultivating stakeholder relationships.
• Experience with museum best practices, collections care, and educational programming is preferred.
• Passion for literature, cultural preservation, and local heritageespecially Stevensons legacy.

Compensation: $68,640$75,000 salary; includes 3 weeks paid vacation and 1 week paid sick leave.
