  2025-10-01     Wardly     Sonoma,CA
Description:

About Wardly

Wardly (www.wardlyai.com) is an AI copilot for nurses that reduces administrative burden and frees up time for patient care. Nurses today spend up to 30% of their time on manual documentation, fragmented tools, and inefficient handovers. Wardly integrates seamlessly with existing EHRs, providing a mobile-first, AI-powered platform for real-time task prioritization, vitals monitoring, documentation, and intelligent alerts.

We are an early-stage healthtech startup working closely with frontline nurses and clinical advisors to build a nurse-first product.

Role Overview

We're looking for an Epic Integration Consultant with strong expertise in Epic APIs, FHIR, and HL7 to help us design and implement seamless integrations between Wardly and Epic environments. This is a contract role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with startups and can provide hands-on technical guidance as well as strategic input on interoperability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on and implement integration workflows between Epic EHR and Wardly.
  • Configure and support data exchange via FHIR APIs (R4, SMART on FHIR) and HL7 messaging.
  • Collaborate with Wardly's product and engineering team to design scalable, compliant integration solutions.
  • Ensure all integrations adhere to HIPAA and healthcare data security standards.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and provide best practices for hospital IT collaboration.
  • Provide lightweight documentation and knowledge transfer to the Wardly team.

Qualifications

  • Epic certification (e.g., Epic Bridges, Epic Integration, or relevant modules).
  • 3+ years of experience in Epic systems integration, with strong FHIR/HL7 expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with API design, EHR interoperability, and healthcare data standards.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PHI/PII handling).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and clinical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience integrating Epic with third-party clinical or workflow tools.
  • Familiarity with Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, or Cloverleaf.
  • Experience working in startup or early-stage environments.

Engagement Details

  • Flexible, remote consultant role.
  • Estimated commitment: 10–20 hours per week initially (expandable as projects grow).
  • Competitive hourly consulting rate.
  • Opportunity to shape integrations that directly impact nurse efficiency and patient care.
