About the Role

We're seeking a Housing Navigator to join our CalAIM program team. Housing Navigators play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity by connecting them with stable housing and community resources. This is a field-based position—you'll be meeting directly with members in the community, attending outreach events, and working closely with local partners to build housing solutions.

If you're passionate about housing stability, enjoy working in the field, and thrive on making a direct impact in people's lives, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

  • Provide housing navigation and tenancy support services to members referred by Managed Care Plans (MCPs)
  • Conduct intakes, housing assessments, and develop individualized housing support plans
  • Meet with members regularly (caseload of ~30–50) to monitor housing progress and address barriers
  • Assist members with applications, supportive documents, and access to subsidies or housing resources
  • Build partnerships with landlords, realtors, and property managers to expand affordable housing opportunities
  • Conduct pre-inspections and habitability checks to ensure housing quality standards are met
  • Support members in maintaining housing by providing eviction prevention strategies, mediation, and education on tenant rights
  • Collaborate with Continuum of Care (CoC) providers, MCPs, and Enhanced Care Management (ECM) partners
  • Document all services in HMIS, Salesforce, and per HUD/funder requirements

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  • Reside in Monterey County with knowledge of local housing resources
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field OR equivalent experience
  • With a degree: 2+ years in housing navigation, case management, or homeless services
  • Without a degree: 4–5 years direct experience in the field
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, insurance, and a good driving record
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage a field-based caseload

Nice-to-Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Training in Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, or Harm Reduction
  • Experience collaborating with CES, CoC systems, or housing authorities

Why Join Us?

  • Make a real difference by helping community members achieve housing stability
  • Be part of a collaborative team aligned with the mission of CalAIM
  • Enjoy a balanced schedule with early afternoons off (8am–3pm)
  • Receive full IT equipment and support for your work
