Overview

Associate Director, Business Insights & Analytics, Skeletal Conditions — join BioMarin to establish the BI&A team within a global shared service of Business Operations & Strategy. The role leads the design, execution, and management of market research and analytics projects to deliver actionable insights for the Skeletal Conditions business unit and VOXZOGO/333 initiatives. Reports to the BI&A Head within BOS and collaborates with commercial leadership, direct markets, and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

  • Act as strategic partner to Skeletal Conditions teams; work with BU and Brand Team Leads, Market Access Leads, Global Medical Leads, and direct markets to frame and address key business questions related to brand/asset strategies and tactics; help prioritize resources based on program needs.
  • Design and deliver qualitative and quantitative market research projects using third-party vendors; provide consultative and locally-led support as needed.
  • Provide context and insights for governance committees and leadership reports (e.g., commercial business reviews, earnings narratives, Portfolio Strategy Reviews).
  • Integrate primary and secondary market research withCompetitive Intelligence, pricing, and market access insights to support commercial strategies, including opportunity assessments and patient journey analyses.
  • Assess competitive dynamics and synthesize insights to guide decisions and strategy.
  • Create and manage an efficient Skeletal Conditions insights and analytics plan and calendar across markets and cross-functional partners.
  • Maintain Skeletal Conditions knowledge management library and ensure insights plans align with IBT, asset teams, and direct markets.
  • Co-lead the Integrated Insights Team for VOXZOGO; develop, track, and report KPIs, metrics, and dashboards; translate insights into actions to improve customer reach and field performance.
  • Aid development of commercial strategies through market research and analytics to support lifecycle management where appropriate.
  • Present insights effectively, combining rigorous analytics with storytelling to influence decisions.
  • Stay current on emergent insights capabilities and explore new approaches as warranted.
  • Lead procurement, contracting, and project execution for BI&A insights activities, ensuring alignment with BI&A best practices and policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A passion for improving patient and business outcomes
  • BA/BS in science or business; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years in a commercial capability within pharma/biotech or life sciences; 4+ years in market research and analytics
  • Experience understanding brand asset/content, strategy, and tactics
  • Ability to effectively utilize dashboards and data products to derive insights
  • Understanding of primary and secondary research methodologies with experience managing vendors
  • Proven ability to synthesize analysis and data into actionable strategic recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Self-starter with a positive, solution-oriented approach
  • Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
