The Biology Department at Contra Costa College is hiring part-time instructors to teach Nutrition (BioSc 160, 3 units). This is a lecture-only class. We offer in-person as well as online sections.
Education: Masters in any biological science OR Bachelors in any biological science AND Masters in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science OR a Masters in Nutrition or Nutritional Science OR the equivalent. If you meet the minimum qualifications via equivalency, complete the Masters Degree Discipline Equivalency form in the application packet.
Understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, staff and faculty.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience teaching science classes at the community college level; experience with teaching using technology, including remote education platforms.
Desirable qualities: extraordinary interpersonal skills, leadership, passion for teaching, and ability to communicate effectively with students to help them achieve educational goals.
