Position Summary

The Electrician is responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and components in accordance with project drawings, codes, and company quality standards. This position operates within a union environment and must comply with the applicable collective bargaining agreement, OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations, and Harbinger Production's safety and quality assurance standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and wiring diagrams to plan layout and installation of electrical systems.
  • Verify drawings and installation plans for compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), state, and local regulations.
  • Install rough-in electrical materials, conduit, wiring, and components per project drawings and QC/QA standards.
  • Conduct hi-potential and continuity testing on completed units per company and regulatory standards.
  • Install finish devices, trim, and electrical fixtures; perform "hot checks" per QC/QA procedures.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems to identify issues and perform corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and work completed for each project or unit.
  • Maintain all tools and equipment in safe, proper working condition.
  • Follow all company and Cal/OSHA safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, PPE use, and hazard reporting.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of residential or commercial electrical installation experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical materials, tools, conduit bending, and wiring methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with digital tools or tablets for recording work orders and data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to code compliance and safety.
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a unionized team environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, and reaching throughout the workday.
  • Occasional overhead work and climbing ladders or lifts.
  • Regular use of hand and power tools; repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and arms.

Union Classification & Compensation

This is a union position covered under Carpenters Local 180, classification PWT - PW2.
Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $26.20 per hour (commensurate with experience and classification level).
This position may be subject to prevailing wage requirements, where applicable.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a production or construction environment, often around active electrical, mechanical, and framing systems. Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and electrical equipment is common. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times in designated work areas.
