Operations Specialist Instructor with Security Clearance

Mayvin, Inc. invites experienced candidates to join as an Operations Specialist Instructor with Security Clearance, delivering instruction to students enrolled in “A” and “C” schools at the United States Coast Guard Training Center (USCG TRACEN) in Petaluma, CA. Candidates must be US citizens, able to pass a background investigation, and have a documented security clearance. Compensation is $30.00/hr plus $4.93/hr for health & welfare benefits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personnel are well prepared for real‑world scenarios by improving their ability to respond effectively to emergencies and operate efficiently in command environments.
• Prepare and execute instruction per USCG standards in classroom, laboratory, seminar, conference, discussion, lecture, demonstration, and practical exercises according to the class training schedule.
• Provide hands‑on training in SAR equipment, technologies, techniques, procedures, and best practices.
• Cover mission planning, search patterns, rescue operations, and resource coordination.
• Teach management and operation within command centers, focusing on communication, decision‑making, situational awareness, workflows, and protocols.
• Cover tools and systems for real‑time tracking, coordination of field units, and crisis management.
• Emphasize skills related to ground operations, including navigation, terrain analysis, and integration of land assets in SAR and command operations.
• Address unique challenges associated with land‑based rescue and command environments.
• Develop and deliver training programs that combine classroom instruction with practical, scenario‑based exercises.
• Assess students' performance and provide constructive feedback.

Requirements

• Minimum two (2) years of experience as a primary classroom instructor.
• Minimum five (5) years of rated/commissioned operational experience as a qualified CIC Watch Supervisor.
• Must be a former Coast Guard or Navy controller (or equivalent) with experience as a CIC Watch Supervisor.
