Position Summary

The Framer is responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing structural wood frameworks and related components in accordance with project specifications, blueprints, and safety standards. This position operates within a union environment and requires adherence to collective bargaining agreements, company policies, and all applicable safety and quality procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, shape, and join wood and other building materials using hand tools, power tools, nails, screws, adhesives, and fasteners.
  • Install and secure plywood sheathing, drywall, and related materials onto existing or new framing structures.
  • Construct and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolds, platforms, and hoists, following all safety protocols.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine material requirements and structural dimensions.
  • Perform repairs, reinforcements, and maintenance on existing framework or structures that are damaged or structurally unsound.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure alignment with company quality standards and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other trades to complete projects efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of carpentry or framing experience in a construction or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and framing terminology.
  • Proficient in the safe use of power and hand tools, measuring instruments, and carpentry equipment.
  • Strong understanding of basic and intermediate math used in measurements and calculations.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform high-quality, productive work under minimal supervision.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks as required by the position.
  • Must adhere to all company safety, attendance, and conduct policies.

Union Classification & Compensation

This is a union position covered by Carpenters Local 180, classification PWT-PW2.
Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $26.20 per hour (commensurate with experience and classification level).
This position may be subject to prevailing wage rates where applicable.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a production or construction setting with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and materials related to plumbing and carpentry work. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times in designated areas.
