SUMMARY

The full-time Kitchen Support role is a cross-functional position that contributes to the success of our culinary and tasting room operations by performing both dishwashing and basic prep responsibilities. This role helps ensure all wares are cleaned and sanitized while supporting Culinary Team with ingredient prep, station set up, and maintaining a clean, organized and safe kitchen environment.

SCHEDULE: Full-time, Friday through Monday. Typical hours are approximately 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, depending on business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Dishwashing & Sanitation

  • Clean and sanitize all kitchenware including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware using commercial dishwashing equipment.
  • Ensure clean items are properly stored in designated locations, maintaining organization and accessibility.
  • Restock dishware, utensils, and supplies at serving stations, prep areas, and refrigerators as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in dishwashing and kitchen areas, following daily cleaning schedules.

Prep Cook Support
  • Assist with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning items.
  • Set up and break down prep stations as directed.
  • Follow recipe guidance, portion standards, and food safety procedures.
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and rotating food inventory (FIFO).
  • Support cooks and culinary staff with additional prep or kitchen tasks as needed.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adapt to changing kitchen needs based on business volume-may shift between dishwashing and prep work throughout the shift.
  • Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with company policies and local/state regulations.
  • Ensure that the Gloria Ferrer Culture is consistently supported in all business and employee interactions. Including ethical and legal aspects, compliant with state and federal law and GF policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Previous dishwashing, kitchen or prep cook experience.
  • Must have Food Handler certification (or complete within 30 days).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions clearly.
  • Must be dependable, team-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
  • Must be available to work weekends.
  • Ability to work flexibly and shift between dishwashing and prep duties depending on business needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, communicate clearly, and use their hands to handle tools, equipment, and food items. The employee must also be able to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to taste and smell as part of standard kitchen operations.
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces common in winery environments.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 48 pounds.
  • Ability to work extended shifts when business needs require it.
  • Ability to sustain repetitive hand motions and long periods of standing, walking, and bending, including regularly walking up and down stairs.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

COMPENSATION
  • $21 per hour, plus gratuity.
