Our client is a respected European manufacturer of high‑purity gas control technologies with an established global presence. As the company expands its operations in the United States, it is building a dedicated technical team to support customers in semiconductor manufacturing, specialty gas handling, pharmaceuticals, and advanced materials.

This role offers the opportunity to represent a technologically advanced product portfolio while collaborating closely with engineering teams across the U.S. and Europe.

Position Overview

The Senior Application Engineer will serve as the primary technical expert for UHP pressure regulators and related high‑purity gas components in the U.S. This position combines advanced engineering knowledge with direct customer support, product integration guidance, and application development responsibilities. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in UHP gas systems and excels in solving complex technical challenges in customer environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the U.S. subject matter expert for UHP regulators and high‑purity gas control components.
  • Provide regulator selection, sizing, configuration, and integration support for customer applications.
  • Evaluate customer process requirements and recommend solutions aligned with performance, materials, and contamination‑control standards.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis to resolve regulator performance or system integration issues.
  • Support semiconductor OEMs, integrators, gas distributors, and end‑users with design‑in assistance and application reviews.
  • Conduct on‑site (or remote) technical consultations, training sessions, product demonstrations, and troubleshooting.
  • Build and maintain strong technical relationships with key accounts, participating in product qualification and performance verification activities.
  • Partner with sales teams to develop technical proposals and respond to RFQs.
  • Collaborate with European R&D teams to communicate U.S. customer requirements and support new product introductions.
  • Participate in performance testing, validation activities, and application benchmarking.
  • Provide structured feedback on market trends, application challenges, and competitive technologies.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and sales personnel in the U.S.
  • Support quality, operations, and supply‑chain teams with UHP‑related questions and improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of application notes, technical documentation, and best‑practice guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience working with ultra‑high‑purity gas systems, pressure regulators, or precision flow control components.
  • In‑depth knowledge of:
    • UHP regulator mechanics and design principles
    • Pressure and flow dynamics
    • Cleanliness and contamination‑control standards (CGA, SEMI, etc.)
    • Materials compatibility, surface finish requirements, and proper component selection
    • Helium leak testing and UHP performance verification methods
  • Strong experience supporting OEMs, integrators, or end‑users in technical roles.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
