Description:

Gaw Estate Planning, located in Napa, California, is seeking a Full-Time Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support our trust administration and estate planning practice. This role focuses on client intake and relationship management, drafting and assisting with estate plans, organizing and maintaining trust administration processes, preparing and tracking documents throughout the administration, and being the primary point of contact with clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working directly with clients through each phase of trust administration and estate planning while coordinating directly with attorneys and outside professionals.

Role Description

  • Manage and support client intake and ongoing client communications, serving as a consistent point of contact throughout
  • Maintain and monitor step-by-step trust administration timelines and checklists, ensuring deadlines and milestones are met
  • Prepare, organize, and track core trust administration documents, including notices, asset collection materials, inventories, distribution schedules, and correspondence
  • Managing and organizing client files as well as keeping client database and document management systems up to date
  • Draft and prepare initial estate planning documents: trusts, wills, powers of attorney, health care directives, assets, amendments, and related documents

We are looking for someone who is process-driven, highly organized, and comfortable working in a systematized environment where checklists, templates, and timelines are followed to ensure accuracy and clarity for clients and fiduciaries. Knowledge of estate planning and trust administration is preferred but not required. Law firm experience mandatory.

Compensation

Compensation salary of $70,000 90,000 based upon experience. Benefits include a simple IRA with limited matching, medical benefits, supplemental dental, life and disability, vacation, and sick leave.
