JOB IS LOCATED IN NAPA

Position Overview: The Plumbing Installer is responsible for routing various types of pipes and water lines to the sewer systems of new residential and multi-family homes. The ideal candidate will handle tasks such as strapping pipes, nail plating, running condensation lines, gluing pipe, and installing PEX lines.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Cast Iron Waste Lines (using bands and snap cutters)
  • ABS Drain Lines (using pipe cutters and glue)
  • Copper water lines (measure, cut, clean, flux, and solder)
  • CPVC water lines (measure, ream, glue)
  • Black iron gas lines (layout, measure, install)
  • PEX water lines (cut pipe, use fitting expander)
  • Own basic plumbing tools and battery-operated tools (power tools provided)
  • Transport issued tools, including ladders, from job site to job site
  • Operate threading machines, drills, and Sawzalls
  • Lift and carry materials over 80 lbs
  • Knowledge of local codes for installation is a plus
  • Apply Lean Principles including 5S
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and management

Training/Certification:
  • Prior construction or plumbing experience is a plus
  • PEX Certification preferred
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from an Apprenticeship Program is required for Journeyman level
Working Conditions:
  • Subject to extreme weather conditions (heat and cold)
  • Job sites may be loud and dusty
  • Elevated work (up to 3 stories) may be required
  • Physical demands include climbing, stooping, bending, and crawling
Performance Standards:
  • Percentage of time spent in the field, traveling, or in meetings (varies)
  • Use a Field Skills Matrix to meet job goals and expectations
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and customers
  • Meet deadlines set by the supervisor
  • Maintain attendance and punctuality
  • Complete daily timecards
  • Adhere to Lean requirements
Career Advancement:
  • Next Position: Journeyman
  • Skills Required for Promotion:
    • 4-5 years of plumbing production install experience
    • Organizational and leadership skills
    • Strong communication skills for interaction with superintendents
  • Skills for Promotion: 75% of the above skills are required; the remaining 25% will be taught on the job.
