Assistant Veterinary Technician - Full Time with Weekends.
Suisun City Location.
Weekend and Evening Availability Required.

Pinnacle Animal Hospital (Formerly ABC Animal Hospital) is currently hiring a full-time Assistant Veterinary Technician for our Suisun City location. We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about high-quality veterinary care, and has an interest in or experience with surgical procedures and anesthesia support.

Schedule Requirements:

  • Weekend availability is a must (Saturday and Sunday).
  • Evening shift availability required.

  • Maintain high ethical standards with strict adherence to sanitation and sterile techniques.
  • Present a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Provide constructive feedback directly to management; no participation in gossip or drama.
  • Remain calm and efficient in high-stress situations, including emergencies and euthanasia.
  • Manage high call volumes and appointment scheduling accurately and efficiently.
  • Complete and maintain medical records in compliance with legal standards.
  • Confidently use digital tools (Windows, IDEXX Neo, Gmail, Google Drive).
  • Follow all clinic protocols and standard operating procedures.
Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate care to every patient.
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam and treatment areas.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures (lab work, microscopy, radiology).
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by the DVM.
  • Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including patient preparation, anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and post-op care.
  • Monitor patients under anesthesia and during recovery.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist with urgent care procedures.
  • Administer vaccines and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report issues promptly.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior surgical and anesthesia monitoring experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum one year of veterinary experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate with strong work ethic and eagerness to learn).
  • Experience with IDEXX and Neo is a plus.
  • Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:

This role requires the ability to:
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Lift and move 50-120 lbs with assistance.
  • Use hands for precise handling of instruments and animals.
  • Maintain clear vision and hearing to safely perform job duties.
