General Purpose
The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers, treats teammates with respect, follows best?practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be requested to perform additional tasks in specific situations to help achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the top priority; the Associate practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment.
- Treats all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; greets all customers with eye contact and a smile.
- Assists customers in any way necessary; is register?trained and answers customer questions politely and knowledgeably.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to customers at all times; handles customer issues in a courteous and helpful way.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high?touch areas.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
- Expedites merchandise receipts and merchandises all items per company best practice.
- Understands the Loss Prevention Awareness program, Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguards confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follows all policies for cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions; maintains accuracy when handling bankable tenders.

Qualifications & Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicates with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Associates who work stockroom shifts: push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $17.27 - $17.77. The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other rewards vary by position and location.
