Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE: The Loss Prevention Specialist ensures a safe and secure shopping environment for both Associates and Customers by preventing theft and fraud. This visible role includes greeting Customers warmly while maintaining a strong presence in the store, all while adhering to the company's protocols for loss prevention.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment: Prioritizes safety as the main focus by practicing safe behaviors and assisting Store Leadership in creating a safe atmosphere. Provides a visible presence at entrances/exits and throughout the sales floor by being approachable, polite, and observant for any potential safety concerns.
  • Building Great Teams & Partnerships: Engages with Customers by offering friendly greetings and assistance, treating everyone with respect and courtesy to enhance the shopping experience. Actively participates in communication with Associates and external partners.
  • Protecting Against Theft & Fraud: Monitors the store environment for suspicious activities, identifies theft indicators, and effectively communicates findings to Store Leadership. Follows Company protocols for responding to any theft incidents.
  • Minimizing Operational Shortage: Supports the store team in recognizing effective strategies to reduce operational loss and ensures adherence to proper checkout procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; AA degree preferred.
  • One year of retail supervisory experience or equivalent training desirable.
  • One year of experience in loss prevention/security is preferred.
  • Possession of an active Security Guard License is an asset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Adept at conflict resolution.
  • Compliance with relevant safety regulations and background screening requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular attendance is essential.
  • Must be able to spend significant time on feet, walking, and moving throughout the store.
  • Ability to handle objects weighing more than 25 lbs.
  • Comfortable with bending, stooping, or crouching as necessary.

The base pay range for this role is $18.71 - $19.21, depending on experience, skills, and location of the role.
