Job Overview:
UPS is seeking skilled Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics. You will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing the operations of our package handling facilities. Given the fast-paced environment, you will collaborate regularly with other team members. Ideal candidates must be flexible to work across all shifts in our 24/7 operations and have a robust electrical background, as passing an electrical assessment is a requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment, including batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photo electrical devices, transducers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and encoders.
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace pneumatic systems, including diverters, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace hydraulic systems, such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
Weld components including handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grating as needed.
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections of equipment including conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment.

Compensation:
The starting wage for this position is $43.35/hr, in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
