Job Overview:

UPS is seeking skilled Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics. You will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing the operations of our package handling facilities. Given the fast-paced environment, you will collaborate regularly with other team members. Ideal candidates must be flexible to work across all shifts in our 24/7 operations and have a robust electrical background, as passing an electrical assessment is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment, including batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photo electrical devices, transducers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and encoders.

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace pneumatic systems, including diverters, lubricators, hoses, and coils.

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace hydraulic systems, such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.

• Weld components including handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grating as needed.

• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections of equipment including conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment.

Compensation:

The starting wage for this position is $43.35/hr, in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
