Currently we are seeking a candidate to join our Designated Video Surveillance (DVS) team as a Video Surveillance Technician.
SUMMARY:
This position performs all tasks required for installations, commissions, services, and maintains Power Plus Designed Video Surveillance (DVS) systems across construction and commercial environments. This includes deployment of mobile surveillance units (MSUs), surveillance trailers, and pole-mounted and structure-mounted camera systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, mount, aim, and configure CCTV cameras and surveillance hardware on MSUs, surveillance trailers, poles, and structures
Install and terminate low-voltage cabling including Cat5/6 and fiber optic for surveillance and network connectivity
Install conduit, cable pathways, and vertical and horizontal cable runs in construction and commercial environments
Install and configure network closets, switches, routers, wireless radios, and UPS equipment supporting surveillance systems
Test and troubleshoot video alarm events, communications paths, and supervisory signals
Communicate and coordinate with customers, Sales, and Project/Install teams to confirm site conditions, scope alignment, installation readiness, and surveillance coverage needs
Provide field feedback to customers, Sales, and Operations
Coordinate with central station and technical support teams during commissioning, testing, and service activities
Perform service, maintenance, and repair of deployed surveillance systems in field environments
Diagnose and resolve camera, network, wireless, and power/UPS related issues
Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas on active job sites
Document installation, testing, commissioning, and service activities per DVS and central station requirements
Other duties may be assigned as business needs require.
COMPETENCIES/REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in Cat6 cable termination, testing, and structured cabling practices for surveillance systems
Working knowledge of low-voltage wiring methods, terminations, and installation standards
Basic networking fundamentals including IP addressing, device connectivity, and switch/router integration
Understanding of DC circuits as applied to surveillance and field equipment
Basic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for mounting, fastening, and equipment assembly
Experience working with solar-powered or battery-based surveillance systems preferred
Valid, clean state Driver's License and clean DMV report
Knowledge of basic Microsoft office programs (Power Point /Excel /Visio/ Word).
Working knowledge of low-voltage tools and test equipment
Must provide and maintain standard low-voltage technician tools
Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs
Pay Range: $25.00 - $28.00
