The Position
Napa County's Office of Emergency is seeking a Secretary for the Office of Emergency Services who will perform a variety of specialized and complex secretarial duties; and to coordinate clerical support functions.
The Secretary for the Office of Emergency Services plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of a department dedicated to public safety and emergency preparedness. This position provides administrative and clerical support to staff, ensuring efficient coordination, communication, and documentation. Responsibilities include managing calendars and scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, maintaining physical and digital records, processing invoices, and assisting with other daily clerical tasks. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, discretion, strong written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in standard office software systems.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities. A desirable combination is:
Experience: Three years of significant, directly related and progressive clerical experience.
Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, including or supplemented by specialized clerical training.
License or Certificate:* Certain positions assigned to this class may require possession of a valid California Driver's License.*
Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County. For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position. Loss of the required State licensure may result in termination or reassignment.
