Overview:
Join our dynamic team as a key player in the Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing department, located in Ellicott City, MD. Enjoy a hybrid work schedule while contributing to various market sectors such as industrial food & beverage, refining, power, and advancedbiofuels. This role offers the opportunity to lead and supervise electrical engineering initiatives in our Maryland office.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as project discipline lead with oversight of 2-4 employees.
- Develop electrical design documents and drawings.
- Analyze and approve the work of others. Monitor the work performed by the team.
- Conceptual and detailed design of low voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, motor control systems, PLC/Client, HMI's process equipment and instrumentation.
- Interact with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.
- Lead project meetings and make presentations.
- Perform typical electrical calculations including but not limited to voltage drop, short circuit, coordination studies, arc flash, relay settings, conduit fill, lighting, and grounding.
- Develop specifications and datasheets for electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs.
- Travel to client project sites to support field walk downs and as-built efforts.
- Monitor allocated resources to ensure that the work performed is within project estimates.
- Work with Design/Engineering Managers to ensure that project schedules are met, and complete documents are provided for each project.
Required Qualifications: - BS in Electrical Engineering (A.B.E.T. accredited).
- PE License.
- 12 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in power, energy, oil and gas, or other industrial process industries.
- Experience developing one-line drawings, control schematics and wiring diagrams, electrical equipment specifications, power plans, conduit plans, cable schedules, etc.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, REVIT, or other design software.
- Working knowledge of Technical Codes and Standards: NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, etc.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office.
- US Citizen.
