Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Expeditor. The Expeditor reports directly to the F&B Leadership team and is responsible for keeping a steady line of communication between the kitchen and the dining room and ensuring food goes out to each table properly timed, properly temped, and looking great.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure communication in the kitchen by calling out orders, getting the status on dishes, and calling the waitstaff to serve completed dishes.
- Inform the waitstaff when certain dishes or ingredients have run out and passing food requests from the waitstaff to the kitchen.
- Monitor the food portions on completed dishes according to restaurant standards.
- Ensure that all orders are completed in time and with the correct priority.
- Inspect the cleanliness, presentation, and temperature of completed dishes.
- Perform the finishing touches to completed dishes, such as adding garnishes and removing smudges.
- Keep the expediting area clean, neat, and well-stocked.
- Ensure all staff adheres to health and safety standards.
The starting pay rate for this position is $17.90-$18.90 per hour plus tips. This is the pay rate for this position that Auberge du Soleil reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual pay will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
Qualifications Required
- A minimum of one-year experience in the foodservice /hospitality industry
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs
Desirable
- Prior experience in a luxury setting
- 1 year experience working in an expeditor role
SKILLS
- Great communication skills
- Confidence and ability to perform under pressure
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours and be able to lift up, push, and pull at least 35 pounds
