People Operations

  2026-05-02     Stealth Company     Sonoma,CA
Description:

Company Description

We are a well-funded stealth startup backed by proven founders, building the next generation of AI-powered consumer hardware. We are assembling an elite, high-ownership team to create revolutionary products integrating cutting-edge voice, vision, and AI.

We move fast - faster than most people are comfortable with. We're looking for a relentless, high-agency People Operations Lead who doesn't just manage HR, but engineers a frictionless environment for our team to execute. You will act as the operational backbone for everything involving our team, ensuring that as we scale our hardware and engineering efforts, our internal operations remain bulletproof.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role in Redwood City, CA. You will own the entire employee lifecycle and act as the primary point of contact for all internal team operations.

Unlike a traditional, siloed HR role, this position is for a scrappy, highly organized operator. You will own everything "people" from foundational HR and compliance to managing corporate spend, travel logistics, and the daily tactical execution required to keep a high-performing team running at peak velocity.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR & Employee Lifecycle: Own the end-to-end employee experience. Drive seamless onboarding and offboarding, administer benefits, manage payroll, and ensure strict compliance local laws.
  • Financial Admin & "Anything People": Act as the admin for our corporate spend platform (e.g., Ramp). You will manage employee corporate cards, audit and approve expense reports, and establish clear policies for travel and team budgets.
  • Recruiting & Talent Ops: Partner with the executive team to scale the organization. Manage the ATS, coordinate complex interview panels, and ensure a world-class candidate experience from initial outreach to offer execution.
  • Office & Culture Operations: Curate a high-performance workspace in Redwood City. You will manage daily office logistics, vendor relationships, team meals, and offsites.

What We're Looking For

  • High-Bandwidth Operator: You can context-switch seamlessly between auditing an expense report, resolving a complex benefits question, and coordinating an international candidate's travel in the same hour.
  • Systems Thinker: You don't just solve problems manually; you implement scalable software (HRIS, ATS, Spend Management) to automate the busywork.
  • Low Ego, High Impact: No task is beneath you. You are willing to do whatever it takes to unblock the team, whether that involves high-level organizational design or stocking the breakroom fridge.
  • Empathy Meets High Standards: You are the cultural ambassador of the company. You know how to deeply support an elite, hard-working team while maintaining the intense, high-bar standards of the founders.
  • Discretion & Trust: You will handle highly sensitive compensation data, employee relations matters, and financial information. Total integrity and discretion are non-negotiable.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, or a Business Operations role at an early-stage, fast-paced startup.
  • Tooling Mastery: Hands-on experience managing modern startup infrastructure, including HRIS (e.g., Gusto), ATS (e.g., Lever, Ashby), and spend management tools (e.g., Ramp).
  • Domain Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of standard HR practices, benefits administration, and labor compliance.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
  • Location: Ability to work on-site in Redwood City, CA.
