Assessment Psychologist

  2026-05-24     Children's Health Council     Sonoma,CA
Description:

About Children's Health Council:

Too many young people reach adulthood without ever understanding why school felt so hard — or why their minds work differently. We exist to change that. Our teams specialize in identifying and supporting students and young adults with learning differences and mental health concerns, helping them understand their strengths, build effective strategies, and thrive academically and personally. We focus on four core areas where early, accurate assessment makes the biggest difference: ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety and depression, and the intersection of all three.

The opportunity:

We're hiring Assessment Psychologists to join our interdisciplinary clinical team. You'll conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, develop actionable treatment plans, and collaborate with a team of dedicated specialists — doing work that has a real, lasting impact on the students and families you serve.

What you'll do:

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments across cognitive, academic, attention, executive functioning, and social-emotional domains

• Conduct clinical interviews, develop case formulations, and deliver clear feedback to clients, families, and colleagues

• Develop evidence-based recommendations and treatment plans that drive meaningful outcomes

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and contribute to community education and outreach

What we're looking for:

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited program

• Active California psychology license in good standing (or eligibility)

• Knowledge of ADHD, learning disabilities, and anxiety/depression in adolescent and young adult populations

• Comfort with telehealth platforms and EHR systems

• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; bilingual in Spanish a plus

Why you'll love it here:

  • Specialized, mission-driven work - We don't do a little bit of everything. Our entire organization is built around understanding and supporting people with learning differences — which means you'll work alongside colleagues who are deeply expert in the same space you are.
  • See the full arc of impact - From the initial evaluation through recommendations and follow-up, you'll see how your work directly shapes outcomes — not just hand off a report and move on.
  • A team that collaborates, not just coexists - Our interdisciplinary model means you'll work closely with learning specialists, clinicians, educators, and others who share your commitment to getting it right for every client.
  • Clinical excellence is the standard - We're a leading organization in our field, known for rigorous, evidence-based assessment and genuine advocacy for the students we serve. If you care about doing the work well, you'll fit right in.
