NVIDIA - Autonomous Vehicle Test Expert (FULL-TIME TRAVEL)

NVIDIA is looking for an AV Test Expert Driver to join their Autonomous Vehicle Operations team. You will be working with multiple teams with our automotive technicians and vehicle engineers and lead our daily autonomous vehicle testing activities to success.

You will drive our test vehicles equipped with our Hyperion platform and support our AV testing activities. Together with a test operator, engineer, or solo, you complete different test missions driving either closed or open loop routes, drive different scenarios on closed test tracks, performing parking maneuvers and much more. This role requires full-time travel with occasional work on weekends and/or evenings.

What youll be doing:

  • AV driver is responsible for conducting daily vehicle pre trip inspections.
  • Perform vehicle system calibrations.
  • Perform TOH (Test operator handbook guidelines)
  • In car testing, including gathering requirements and set up test. Perform the actual test
  • Document feedback and communicate results.
  • Communicate to team members and partners, present findings and results.
  • Collaborate with developers and test operators on autonomous testing plans.
  • Operate company and partner test vehicles with engineers, developers, and test operators to perform autonomous vehicle testing, also be prepared to conduct solo drives.
  • Drive all test vehicles in safe manner and in accordance with local laws and company processes.
  • Be able to work minimum of 40 hours and expect overtime as needed.
  • Monitor systems on the car and follow procedures to calibrate & troubleshoot equipment.
  • Coordinating with members of Drive Ops, and AV team daily to ensure data integrity, proper data transfer, and management of routes is critical.
  • Traveling to various states/Cities for AV testing

What we need to see:

  • Licensed for at least 3 years; does not have more than one violation point on driving record; was not the at -fault driver if involved in an accident that resulted in an injury or death; for 10 preceding this application you have not been convicted for driving or operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or any drug.
  • Must pass behind the wheel drive test,
  • You are detail oriented & able to identify and document all problems. Able to provide concise written and oral feedback to the Drive Ops and engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of Linux, QNX and Unix command lines
  • Basic shell scripting knowledge.
  • Aware of computer hardware and interfaces
  • Good troubleshooting skills to debug the issues and follow the instructions.
  • Preferred: Experience and knowledge of Autonomous Vehicles/self-driving car features like ACC, lane keep, active safety, and parking.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly developed and detailed communication and organizational skills
  • Drive test track experience preferred.
  • Must be flexible with work schedules and travel.
  • Demonstrate values of self-motivation and ownership.

  • Duration: 1 year + Extensions (2+ years)
  • PTO: 6 Days (48 hours) + 3 Paid Holidays
  • Location: Full-Time Travel
