Grant Writer for Large Children's Organization in Hypergrowth

Our client is a long-standing and highly respected children's organization that has delivered impactful, award-recognized programs to the community for decades.

We seek a Grant Writer with demonstrated experience managing the full grant lifecycle, including prospect research, proposal development, submission, and reporting. This role also supports broader fundraising efforts, including corporate partnerships and donor engagement, with a strong emphasis on securing institutional funding. A genuine commitment to children's advocacy is essential. The ideal candidate is a skilled writer with a sharp eye for detail, capable of translating programmatic impact into compelling, funder-aligned narratives. They are highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical thinking, resourcefulness, and effective communication skills are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies across individual, corporate, foundation, and government sources
  • Manage and grow a donor portfolio, driving engagement and retention
  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities, lead proposal, and report development
  • Build and maintain strong donor and stakeholder relationships
  • Collaborate with Development, Finance, and Program teams to align funding with program goals and ensure compliance
  • Support fundraising campaigns, events, sponsorships, and direct mail initiatives
  • Track grant performance and ensure timely, accurate reporting
  • Maintain donor and proposal data within CRM systems
  • Contribute to annual development planning and pipeline growth
  • Support additional fundraising initiatives and priorities as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of fundraising, development, or related experience with proven results
  • Strong grant writing and donor communication skills
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge)
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities
  • Understanding of budgeting and proposal development
  • CFRE preferred; passion for youth advocacy
