Senior Accountant (CONTRACT)You are responsible for performing and supporting key accounting functions, including general ledger, reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance. This role plays an important part in the month-end close process and helps ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The position operates with a solid degree of independence while continuing to develop technical and analytical expertise.$38 – 43/hour depending on experienceLocation: St. Helena, CAWhat you will be doing:Support month-end close activities, including reviewing and completing close checklistsPerform general ledger accounting and prepare journal entriesComplete bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliationsPull and analyze GL detail to research discrepancies and resolve accounting issuesReview account activity and identify unusual balances or transactionsSupport cost accounting and sales reconciliation processes as neededAssist with AP and AR support, including invoice processing and responding to internal payment inquiriesCollaborate with the accounting team to improve processes and create efficienciesTroubleshoot accounting issues independently and elevate concerns when appropriateMaintain accurate financial records and ensure accounting tasks are completed timely and accuratelySupport the accounting team during a period of organizational transition and growthWhat you bring:Strong understanding of debits, credits, journal entries, and core accounting principlesExperience with general ledger accounting and reconciliationsAdvanced Excel skills and comfort working with external reconciliation schedulesAbility to work independently with minimal training or oversightStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesComfortable supporting AP/AR functions in a team environmentExperience reviewing financial data and identifying discrepancies proactivelyFamiliarity with Business Central (BC) strongly preferredPrior experience in manufacturing, winery, consumer goods, or similar accounting environments is helpful but not requiredStrong communication skills and collaborative mindsetOpen to temp-to-hire opportunities#J-18808-Ljbffr
