OverviewProject Engineer provides support to the Superintendent & Project Managers on an assigned project. Our complete and diverse range of construction services includes gas transmission and distribution, electrical transmission and distribution, airport fueling facilities, industrial and special projects, telecommunications, and utilities.ResponsibilitiesServes as project technical resource to interpret plans and specificationsResolves questions and problems as they ariseParticipate in the development of the project estimate & associated negotiationsAcquire vendor & subcontractor quotesWork with the safety department to develop a site‑specific safety planDiscuss weekly safety topic with the construction team and participate in daily safety briefsCoordinate project specific materials pickup & delivery to jobsiteWork with the Superintendent to obtain & set up the required yard & office equipmentDevelop & accurately update the project scheduleReport production quantities on a weekly basisSubmit weekly report to the owner containing project status, schedule update, safety report, two‑week look ahead, outstanding issues, & pending change ordersTrack, analyze, & report costs of labor, equipment, & material, subcontractors, outside rentals & truckingMaintain communications with all members of the construction team including the owner & its representatives, the inspection team, subcontractors & any other stakeholders involvedForecast project Cost to Complete & present findings to executives on a monthly basisSubmit RFIs to the owner for questions & change order conditionsPrepare a set of red line As‑Built drawings for the owner's archiveCloseout project when complete, including hosting the project closeout meeting, indexing all the project documents into the project file, and submitting internal closeout documentationOther related duties and projects as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalentExperience in place of the degree would be 5 (Five) years as a Project Coordinator, with field experience in various divisions throughout the companyAcquired certain specialized skills from exposure to specific projects, technologies, or industries (e.g., fueling, electrical, or gas)Possesses strong written & verbal communications skills & manages time effectivelyAbility to read and understand drawings and specificationsStrong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Project & ExcelDetail oriented with a positive attitude & eagerness to learnAbility to work extended hours when necessary for business needsExperience working in construction is a plusDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environmentAbility and willingness to travel as neededAbility to maintain a valid driver's licenseSupervisory ResponsibilitiesAssists with the training and efficiency of Project CoordinatorsPhysical RequirementsWork is performed at project sites and in an office and/or trailerSedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
